Soda City Comic Con 2022 Re-cap

by Audrey Hacker Our most recent Pinball show took place at Marco’s own hometown of Columbia, South Carolina at Soda City Comic Con 2022! The show took place from August 20-21st, and included meetings with actors from horror & science fiction films, cosplay contests, various vendors, but most importantly.. a Pinball Arcade! The team set up over 60 pinball machines at the show and set all the machines to free play for the weekend, making Arcade Alley look fabulous!  Bang Back Pinball Lounge brought Stern Pinball’s Stranger Things, and the set was transformed into the Upside-Down.   Stern Pinball and Marco read more…

LOCATION OF THE MONTH – JULY

ARCADE DUNGEON – ALAMOGORDO, NEW MEXICO Our Location of the Month is Arcade Dungeon, a pinball gem located in Alamogordo, New Mexico and is owned by Daniel Humm. They are open exclusively on Friday and Saturday from 5PM – 10PM on a purely volunteer basis. They currently have 12 machines and growing. Coil Substitutions and Equivalents

We get a lot of questions from people asking about coil substitutions.  Let’s preface by saying we always recommend replacing a coil with the same part number as the original. Remember, a weak flipper probably won’t be fixed by replacing the coil with a stronger one, and changing to a non-factory recommended coil can cause damage to plastics, drop targets and ramps. Learning about EOS Switches in Pinball

This Month’s “Location of the Month” is Recbar and they currently have about 70 pinball machines and about 60 arcade games at their J-Town location. (70 pins and 100+ arcade games and at Recbar 812 and will have around 30 pins and 30 arcade games at Tilty Bob’s in Lexington) They are a full service bar and restaurant. Meet Phil Forrester Jr., located in Greenville, South Carolina. He, along with his dad (Phil Sr.) own and operate The Phil’s Pinball. We mainly refurb and rent pinball machines. We do some sales as well. We service mainly Upstate South Carolina and the surrounding areas. Phil says: “I got my start in pinball 4.5 years ago refurbishing a Gottlieb Charlie’s Angels with my dad. FORT WAYNE PINBALL WIZARD’S WORLD ARCADE This Month’s “Location of the Month” is Fort Wayne Pinball Wizard’s World Arcade. They are located at 14613 Lima Rd, Fort Wayne IN 46818 where they currently have 136 Pinball machines.
