Spring into Pinball - Your Maintenance Checklists

Pinball Mechanical Inspection Checklist
Flippers – Check for loose shafts, worn plungers/linkages, damaged sleeves, and return spring tension. Rebuild if mushy or inconsistent.
Slingshots – Ensure responsive triggering, smooth armature movement, clean sleeves, and solid switch blade contact.
Pop Bumpers – Inspect for smooth plunger action, sensitive skirt switches, intact yokes/spoons, and secure mounting.
Drop & Standup Targets – Verify clean resets, no broken targets, responsive switch registration, and proper spring tension.
Shooter Assembly / Autoplunger – Look for worn tips, rusted or bent springs, and accurate alignment on automatic plungers.
VUKs / Scoops / Kickouts – Confirm strong ejection, undamaged cups, reliable ball detection switches, and clean coil sleeves.
Spinners / Rollovers – Ensure spinners rotate freely and switches trigger cleanly with no resistance.
Posts / Ball Guides / Rails – Check for loose or sharp-edged guides, broken or hardened rubber rings, and misaligned parts.
Coils / Solenoids – Look for signs of overheating, damaged coil stops or sleeves, and loose or frayed wiring connections.
Don't forget to inspect your batteries in the backbox of your game! Swap them out with fresh lithium ion batteries, remove them off your board to prevent accidental battery leakage or upgrade them to a non-volatile solution! See options here...
