Suit up, heroes — come battle in Columbia, SC at Soda City Comic Con, compliments of Radioactive Pinball Arcade and sponsored by Marco, Transmission Arcade, Craft & Draft, and other local Columbia arcades. Top 4 will win trophies and there will be fun swag and give-a-ways for players!

Limited Entry Qualifying IFPA Sanctioned Tournament

📅 Saturday, August 23

🕙 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

• Up to 40 attempts across a bank of 10 games

• $20 for all 40 entries

• Top 12 scores count toward your qualifying total

  • Keep 2 highest scores per game max

Finals

📅 Sunday, August 24

• Number of players advancing will depend on total number of competitors

Tournament Entry Fee: $20 for 40 entries (limit of 1 time purchase)

Format

• Hybrid Best Game qualifying.

• Up to 40 entries across a bank of 10 machines.

  (If the final machine count changes, entries = # of machines × 4.)

• $20 for all 40 entries — no rebuys needed.

• Top 12 scores count toward your qualifying total.

  • Max 2 scores per machine.

  • Total counted scores: 12 per player.

• Top players advance to finals (number based on total competitors).

Finals

• PAPA-style group elimination bracket.

• 3 games per round.

  • Game Selection: Top Seed in each group will get to choose their first game and the bank will begin on that game, and then the two machines to the right. Next highest seed gets first choice of position and so on.

  • After the first game, 4TH PLACE gets choice of position 1st, 3RD PLACE gets 2nd choice and so on.

  • IN THE EVENT OF A TIE BREAKER THE GAME TO THE RIGHT OF THE LAST GAME PLAYED WILL BE USED.

• Top 16 if 32+ players; may adjust to Top 8 or smaller based on turnout.

We’re looking for awesome pinball fans to help run the event!

• Volunteer shifts are in 2-hour sessions.

• Commit to 4 hours and get a FREE weekend pass to Soda City Comic Con.

• Due to the limited time for qualifying: VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ABLE TO QUEUE UP AND PLAY WHILE VOLUNTEERING DEPENDING ON VOLUME.

• Roles include:

  • Scorekeeping

  • Player check-in

  • Game reset/monitoring
