Supporting passionate creators like David is what drives our mission—and now pinball fans everywhere can enjoy his brilliant LED solutions.
Who Is David Yopp?
David Yopp is the creator behind the Yoppsicle products, based in Memphis and known through Memphis Flip Side and the pinball community (including forums like Pinside). His passionate work on lighting upgrades began with a simple concept: a popsicle‑stick‑inspired LED board that replaces unreliable incandescent sockets in classic machines. That humble design grew into the Yoppsicle ecosystem of products that effectively solve recurring lighting issues for early Bally, Stern, and some Williams solid‑state games.
What We’re Carrying — and Why It’s Awesome
Here’s the complete Yoppsicle range now available at Marco Pinball:
Yoppsicle LED boards (full‑size controlled lamp replacements)
Available in Warm White, Cool White, Red, Blue, and Green — these boards eliminate flaky sockets and dim No. 44/47 bulbs. They deliver brighter, flicker‑free light thanks to a built‑in load resistor and direct solder‑in design that works with original Bally/Stern driver boards or Alltek upgrades.
Yoppops for pop bumpers
Now in Warm White and Cool White — the Yoppop is a compact LED board that replaces unreliable pop bumper lamp sockets. After removing the old socket, you solder in the Yoppop, tuck it in the bumper, and enjoy bright, stable bump‑lighting forever.
Yopdots for backbox holes and small GI spots
These single‑LED boards are ideal for narrow controlled lamp locations like backbox hole lights. Sold individually in Warm White or Cool White, they provide a clean, socket‑free glow where you need it.

Every Yoppsicle board includes a resistor built in, preventing ghosting or flicker even with the original lamp driver hardware.

Simple solder‑in installation

David’s original inspiration (yes, a popsicle stick) led to an efficient, low‑profile design that stays neatly tucked under the playfield or hidden behind bumpers, not dangling or crowding your machine.
How to Use Them
Controlled lamps: Replace the socket with the appropriate Yoppsicle board color for consistent, vivid illumination.
Pop bumpers: Swap in a Yoppop, solder, tuck it in—and let the bumper glow take over.
Backbox and small areas: Install a Yoppdot in tight spaces where traditional LED bulbs don’t fit or tend to fail.
Installation requires minimal soldering— each component is designed for maximum compatibility with classic Bally/Stern games from the late 1970s to mid‑1980s. They’re not compatible with Bally 6803 systems or Williams lighting matrix games like Firepower.
Make sure your game is TURNED OFF before doing the install.
