These single inline pin (SIP) machine pin sockets are the only chip socket you need to stock. They are ‘snappable’ to any length and can accomodate any SIP or DIP (dual inline pin) IC from 2 to 40 pins.
Superior to conventional sockets because they allow access for soldering between the rails on double-sided circuit boards.
