New design opto receiver board for wide body Williams/Bally WPC system pinball machines has a number of significant improvements over the original:
Highly sensitive IR sensors, yet filters almost all visible light
Tapered PCB layout conforms perfectly to the space provided and is significantly stiffer than the original, reducing board flex. Larger traces and pads for better reliability
Visual status LEDs (light emitting diodes) allow for quick troubleshooting of problems in the ball trough. Six green LEDs indicate the presense of a ball, while a seventh red LED at the far right indicates a ball in the jam location. As with the transmitter board, all LEDs are easily checked by opening the coin door.
