Capacitor Kit - Bally Squawk & Talk

This is the 16 piece axial electrolytic Squawk & Talk Capacitor Kit for Bally AS-2518-61 Sound/Speech Boards. Most common sound problems are fixed by replacing all of these electrolytic capacitors that have dried up over many years of operation.

We may substitute higher voltage rating capacitors in the kit whenever possible for superior performance.

Installation tips:

 

·         OBSERVE POLARITY markings on capacitors and board.  CAPACITORS MAY BURST IF INSTALLED BACKWARDS!

 

·         Change all old capacitors, even if they appear to be good. Some original capacitor values have been substituted with higher voltage ratings for increased reliability.  Electrolytic capacitors eventually "dry out" from heat stress and age and become electrically or physically "leaky".

 

·         Measure the power supply voltages. Be sure that the +12 volt DC input has no more than 0.3 volt AC ripple.  Check the + 5 volt DC supply for an acceptable range of 4.75 volts DC to 5.25 volts DC with no more than 0.005 volts ripple.  Change the 5 volt regulator (LM323K) if the voltages are not correct.
