Programmable Sound Generator, 28 pin DIP made by General Instrument and MicroChip. Used in several 1980's vintage machines.
The AY-3-8912 is a LSI circuit that produces a wide variety of sounds under software control. Requirements to operate this programmable sound generator include, a single 5.0V power supply, A TTL compatible clock , and microprocessor controller.
